Payroll, taxes, rent, insurance & the rest
The fixed-cost reports fill themselves from the classifiers you set up. Here's how to read each one.
Payroll
- Reports → Payroll — checks, ACH runs and fees for the period, plus Labor cost: wages ÷ sales (fees and 401(k) excluded).
- Below it: the local labor market from the Bureau of Labor Statistics — average hourly wage and whether hospitality hiring in your metro is tightening.
Taxes
- Reports → Taxes — excise/sales, payroll and federal payments, split by the buckets you assigned.
- The monthly trend shows the rhythm (excise around the 25th); misses or false positives mean a keyword needs tuning — tap the gear.
Rent, utilities & maintenance
- Reports → Rent — one report, three lanes: rent, utilities, maintenance.
- The year-over-year card compares YTD against the same months last year — the honest way to watch occupancy cost.
Insurance
- Reports → Insurance — every premium, YTD and all-time.
- When the per-payment amount steps up, the Rate increase card shows when and by how much.
Supplies & capital expenses
- Reports → Supplies — card charges you categorized Supplies, with the 12-month trend.
- Reports → Capital expenses — equipment and build-out purchases, kept out of the operating trend, with how each was funded.
